The Digital Infrastructure theme is building the digital ecosystem needed to support robotic deployments throughout the nuclear decommissioning lifecycle.
Through integrated training simulators, digital twins and virtual planning simulations, robotic systems can be tested, validated and optimised before deployment, and operators can train in realistic, risk-free settings, helping accelerate deployment while improving safety.
Areas of work include customisable digital training simulators that allow users to rapidly create task-specific training simulations; digital shadows of facilities that synchronise live operations with virtual models; and high-fidelity digital mock-ups that enable remote handling tasks to be simulated, tested and optimised before work begins in active environments.
